DBMS_PROFILER Performance - Webinar 1/23/07

How much of a performance issue does 'dbms_profiler' come with? Usually you have a badly  written statement that brings the DB to it's knees, and now you have to rerun it with profiler on to find out just where the problem is.

Well it's there, but it’s not much.  And it’s likely that what ever is bad, will just look even worse when it’s profiled.  So your more often then not still going to get to the right line (or lines) of code you need to work on when you profiler it.
