I seem to recall reading somewhere that the hotsos_ilo_timer package that Hotsos uses internally to log into the ilo_run table would be released soon.
When can we expect to see that? My team is interested in implementing this package, and wants that feature. Should we wait for this, or implement our own?
The HOTSOS_ILO_TIMER package is available as a link off of the HOTSOS_ILO page on our portal.
https://portal.hotsos.com/products/hotsos_ilo The package is released under the HOTSOS Free Use License, NOT the LGPL license that covers the Open Source ILO Core. This means that you can freely use the HOTSOS_ILO_TIMER package, but it remains the property of Hotsos, and you may not change, or redistribute it without direct permission from Hotsos.
When I click on Release link under
Hotsos_ILO_Timer package code at https://portal.hotsos.com/products/hotsos_ilo/hotsos_ilo_timer-package-code I get following message: Releases are available to authorized users only. If you are a Profiler customer but are unable to see any releases, please email webmaster@hotsos.com. I am not Profiler customer.
Hotsos ILO—the Hotsos instrumentation library for Oracle—is an open source project at SourceForge.net, distributed under LGPL License. Hotsos SLA Manager is a commercial product available from Hotsos.
The API between these two packages is the HOTSOS_ILO_TIMER code distributed by Hotsos as part of the SLA Manager product. However, Hotsos also distributes the HOTSOS_ILO_TIMER code (the API) free of charge, under the standard Hotsos software product license. To get a copy of the HOTSOS_ILO_TIMER package code, send an email to doug.gault@hotsos.com. |
