Slow Statement Example - Webinar Question on 3/27/07

On slide 43, there was an example of a slow statement; the join criteria and not null clause; what was the solution?  Were they missing an index on the join clause?

It was a statistics issue. We gathered better sampling statistics on that column and the query performance improved. However, it did not improve a whole lot. The thing to note is you know when there is no performance you can squeeze out of a query.
