Does this work even if I have complex queries that are based on views?
Certainly. The plan is the plan. It doesn't matter if the plan is derived for a query using direct table joins or complex views. The issue with complex views is that it's often harder for you to decipher what the optimizer did (i.e. view merging, subquery unnesting, query rewrite, etc.).
But, the bottom-line is that the explain plan and STAT lines still give you the information you need. |
