These are the things you would need.

1.) A 10046 Trace File for the SQL Statement
2.) A 10053 Trace file for the SQL Statement
3.) A copy of your init.ora
4.) A DBMS_XPLAN output for the SQL Statement
5.) Your Statistics Gathering Strategy

If you can assemble all of these, then it will become easier to work with Oracle Support so thay can understand why the optimizer is behaving the way it is.
