Application Upgrade & Stats - Webinar Question on 7/26/07

Application upgrades happen and at times completely ruin the stats and we have to drop them all and recreate?  Why isn't a simple gather okay that is scheduled to get stale and empty?  At times, we have to drop them all and re-gather all?

When you mention Application Upgrades, I think you are including data model changes and code changes. I would always include a full stats gathering as a part of your change window so as to avoid any surprises.
