When using ASM, particularly at smaller sites, what level of redundancy do you think is important? Do you recommend OMF?
With OMF control files and redo logs are automatically multiplexed to DB_CREATE_FILE_DEST and DB_RECOVERY_DEST --, do you recommend using the DB_REDO_DEST params for further redundancy? And finally, do you think archivelogs should be multiplexed somehow? With OMF+ASM they are only stored in the FRA by default. Do you think this is sufficient? What are the recommended best practices and redundancy of various files in 10g? What are your comments about this from a performance perspective? |
